Rochester native, Timothy Woodlock, M.D., grew up in Rochester, studied medicine at the University of Rochester and has practiced in his home town for 20 years. “St. Mary’s (now Unity Health System) was my choice when I got out of med school,” said Dr. Woodlock. I liked the caring, spiritual connection and the mix of hematology and oncology that I could practice here.”
Although Dr. Woodlock was interested in engineering and science, he chose medicine because it allowed him to have a science career and serve his neighbors. Dr. Woodlock is the head of the Unity Oncology/Hematology Unit at Unity Health System. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Woodlock teaches medical residents and participates in clinical research.
The Unity Oncology/Hematology practice has 2 dedicated board certified physicians, so 99% of the time, Unity patients are seen by a physician. Dr. Woodlock said he is so proud of the nursing and office staff at his practice, who are always personable and engaged with patients. The Unity commitment to serve all patients who need care, no matter their insurance coverage, is part of what keeps Dr. Woodlock at this practice.
Dr. Woodlock, his wife and almost grown up children like to experience the change of seasons here in Rochester out of doors. They enjoy canoe trips in the Adirondacks, tennis, hiking and skiing. He also likes to tinker in his home woodworking shop when he has some leisure time. |
